Yellowstone and beyond; homeward bound

finally we make it to Island Park Idaho deciding to commute to Yellowstone and forego the hassle of moving rooms etc. due to road closures, repairing a bridge, parts of the park were closed. oh well

Lake Mc Donald, Glacier National Park

Lake Mc Donald, Glacier National Park

here is Glacier National park lake McDonald one of the smoothest glacier lakes i’ve dipped my toes in so much different than the eastern side of the park Saint Mary lake. I’ve camped at Saint Mary’s lake at Rising Sun campground which is serene compared to the big western Apgar campground and park headquarters along with RV parking.

the weather was dicy those white clouds turned grey wet and nasty. the Going to the Sun road was closed half way up due to repairs. we did manage to drive to the top at Logans Pass but couldn’t see much other than clouds.

really made the road spooky, it’s narrow anyways with steep drop-offs and in summer people take their RV’s along it.

What a joy it has been to read your stories and be the arm chair traveler. Glad you’re home safe and sound.
